Fabric and dye info

These garments are organic; bamboo, hemp and cotton blends with 3% Lycra for stretch. Bamboo and hemp are both antimicrobial, making them excellent choices for tight fitting clothing. Hemp is a durable fabric that softens over time and will last a lifetime if properly cared for. Bamboo is a addictively soft fabric that will never start “pilling” (balling up like cheap polyester.) These fabrics are not only good for your skin, but for the planet we all live on, and for the factory workers who produce this fabric.

The fabrics are hand dyed with low impact dyes. These use less water and contain none of the harsh chemicals conventional synthetic dyes do. All garments are hand dyed here at my studio in DTLA. This is how the marbled effect of the hues are created. *Solid black fabric Is factory dyed with the same low impact dyes.

The mesh and latex fabric I use in a few designs are sourced from small family owned shops here in the fashion district of Los angels. These are not organic or hand dyed. However they are deadstock which means they are remnants from large factory orders that get sold off to small retailers instead of being dumped in a landfill.
